It’s amazing what thieves will do to get their hands on a motorbike.
Just for starters, a motorbike is twice as likely to get stolen as a car and 80% of them are stolen from homes and represent a staggering 21.69 per cent of all vehicles stolen last year !
A colleague’s brother kept his prize motorbike in the garage with the door blocked by two cars. But at some time over a weekend, thieves moved the cars, broke in and removed the bike and then replaced the cars in the same spot, leaving them locked so nothing looked suspicious.
The theft was only discovered on the Monday morning which made him late for work and started off a whole heap of hassle.
One thing he won’t be doing again is storing his next prize machine in anything other than a facility like our Protect a Bike storage unit which is insurer approved, with a ground anchor and the strongest of locks and construction.
