In these times of cutbacks, it’s good to know that the Government is still planning to allocate funding for promoting cycling to ‘nudge people’ towards greener transport choices, a move which is also been welcomed by the Cyclists Touring Club.
The latest announcement includes an investment of £560million, part of which will help promote cycling for schools, workplaces and other groups.
But the Government needs to address all sorts of issues if more of us are to get on our bikes – like road layouts, cycle paths and facilities, as well as housing design with space for proper cycle stores. After all, we have to keep our bikes somewhere !
