After robbing a convenience store in Carolina, USA, a man used a strange form of getaway vehicle – a ride-on lawnmower !
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Ricky New entered the store carrying a large stick, demanded money, and jumped on his mower. Unsurprisingly he was caught just around the corner !
Captain Troy Elwell, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said “Never seen anything quite like this one. I’ve seen some strange cases, but a getaway vehicle as a lawnmower. That doesn’t take a whole lot of thought to figure out that you’re not going to get too far on it.”
If he’d had a Trimetals store with no windows (so he couldn’t be seen hiding inside) and a faster mower – he may have got away with it !
