BTP officers are currently working with The Metropolitan Police Service, City of London Police and Transport for London on Project Cycle Ops – an initiative to crack down on cycle theft in the capital which is funded by Transport for London.
Steve Burton from TfL said: “As cycling continues to grow in the capital we want people to feel safe and secure, and we will continue to work with our policing partners under Project Cycle Ops to minimise bike thefts in London.”
Officers and staff are working together to tackle cycle theft through high-visibility patrols, surveillance, intelligence-led operations, covert policing tactics and by marking bikes at free cycle surgeries across the UK.
